Module 1 – The Impact of Demographic Trends in Caring for Older People.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Define the role of women as carers and as recipients of care.
LO3 Explore the implications for ethnic minority groups of ageing in Britain.
 

Module 2 – The Social Context of Care for Older People.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Identify common stereotyping of older people.

Explain the effects of such stereotyping upon older people.
LO3 Explore why stereotypical attitudes persist in British society.
LO4 Define some of the major sociological issues which affect the lives of older people.

Module 3 – The Provision of Care Within a Mixed Economy.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Module 6 – Promoting Health in Older People.

Identify ways of applying principles of health promotion and teaching to the life situations of clients.

Identify how knowledge of the psychological changes in learning and memory. which occur in old age can be used to optimise the effects of health education.
