Module 1 – Therapy Practice Skills.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

  Learning Outcome
LO1

Discuss how to plan a treatment room layout and include equipment and furniture you will require.

LO2 Describe the importance of the couch layout and show what is required for a make-up treatment.
LO3 Explain the articles required on the top and bottom tiers of the trolley.
LO4 Introduce the dress code of a therapist and the importance of having one.
 

Module 2 – The Skin.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

LO1

Investigate the three main layers of skin, the layers of the epidermis and describe the Stratum Germinativum.

LO2

Describe the sweat and sebaceous glands and give the two forms of coil base.

LO3

Evaluate the various functions of the skin.

LO4

Identify the following conditions, giving recommended treatment:
Impetigo
Conjunctivitis
Ringworm
Scabies

 
Module 3 – Skin Types and Conditions.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Explain the different types of skin in detail.

LO2

List and describe all the various skin conditions.

LO3

Describe one of the two ways in which you can remove make-up from the eyes.

Define why we give after care advice and list the tips you can give your client.

 

Module 4 – Make-up and Tools.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Identify the following lotions:
Tonics
Astringents
Bracers and fresheners

LO2

Describe the different shades of make-up you would use on a round, long and pear shaped face.

LO3

Explain what the following brushes are used for:
Powder brush
Blusher brush

Module 5 – Make-up Application.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Evaluate the importance of face powders and describe how it should be applied.

Module 6 – Health and Safety.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Identify the different methods of sterilising giving the equipment/tools to which that method is suited.

Introduce guidelines to follow with regards to electrical equipment.
