Module 3 – The Mixed Economy of Welfare.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

LO1 Summarise the contribution of the four main sectors involved in the implementation of social policy
 
Module 4 – The Statutory Sector.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

LO1 Examine the ideologies of the Conservative and Labour parties in relation to the role of the statutory sector within the welfare state
 
Module 5 – The Private Sector.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Module 6 – The Voluntary Sector.

LO1 Examine the changing role of voluntary organisations in the mixed economy of welfare and the implications of the shift in the respective roles of the state and the voluntary sector
 
Module 7 – The ‘Informal’ Sector.

LO1 Examine the desirability and feasibility of community care policy which aims to shift the balance away from the state towards the informal sector as the primary provider of care
 
Module 8 – Social Policy and Concepts of Need.
