Module 1 – Anatomy and Physiology of the Skin.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

LO3   Discuss what purpose the melanoblasts serve
 

Module 2 - Anatomy of the Nail.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Examine the anatomy and functions of the hand and wrist showing injuries that can occur in these areas
LO2   Introduce the cause and affect of a repetitive strain injury
LO3   Describe what the symptoms would be for the carpal tunnel syndrome
LO4   List four main reasons for discoloration of the nail
 

Module 3 - Manicure.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Module 4 - Pedicure.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Introduce and explain the various implements and materials used in pedicures

  • Hand creams
  • Nail varnish removers

  • Cuticle clippers
  • Cuticle knife

Module 5 - The Process of Nail Growth.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

LO1 Summarise the growth of a nail showing the treatable and un-treatable conditions
LO2   Introduce and discuss nail technicians and enhancements
LO3   List four untreatable nail conditions
LO4   Definition the meaning of nail enhancement
 

Module 6 - Client Consultation and Communication.
On successful completion of this module the candidate will be able to:

Examine the nail equipment and basic products used in nail enhancement
LO2   Identify what you would use a 100/100 nail file for
LO3   Describe the method you would use to prepare the nail bed for an enhancement
 

Module 7 - Tip Types and Tip Customisation.

LO3   Summarise the manner in which you would apply and blend a tip
 

Module 8 - The Gel System.
